David joined Badgley Phelps in August 2023 as the Director of Business Administration and Compliance, overseeing the firm's business management, finance, and compliance functions. In December 2023, he was appointed Chief Compliance Officer, and by January 2025, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to joining Badgley Phelps, David was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer with Merriman Wealth Management in Seattle, WA, where he directed all aspects of the firm’s operations, including client service, portfolio and trading, IT, finance, and compliance.

David lives in North Bend, on the banks of the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River, with his family and two Labrador Retrievers. David is a passionate outdoorsman and avid fly fisherman. In his spare time, he is a fly fishing guide on the Yakima River in eastern Washington.
