Dear women investors,
At the start of a new year, you may have many conflicting thoughts swirling around in your head. Excitement for leaving the stress and uncertainty of last year behind. Ambition for making changes in the coming weeks and months. Anxiety around your to-do list, which, if you’re like us, never seems to get smaller no matter how productive you are. Regardless of how 2021 ended and 2022 began for you, we would encourage you to focus on being intentional with your time and effort in the year ahead. That means knowing what you can control, identifying where you need help, and then taking action.
If you have made it through the past two years, you probably feel like being “in control” has been tough lately—at least to the extent we were used to prior to the COVID pandemic. Maybe your fitness routine was disrupted, or your travel plans were canceled, or your dinner plans changed. Maybe there was a little more screen time than you would have liked. For many of us, these small disappointments have piled up over the last few years. However, one silver lining during this time is that we have had to simplify our lives and focus more on the little things. Another welcome change is that many of us are more comfortable admitting that we need help.
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of self-awareness and an acknowledgement that it takes a village to succeed in life. Your village might consist of friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers. If you’re like us, your village supports many facets of your life: childcare, elder care, health care, work, social, and financial. In 2022, we encourage you to identify your village and thank them. Then, if there are areas where you need more support, ask for help.
If your financial health is an area of priority for you in 2022, please reach out. We want to help! Take a look at our team and decide if we might be a good fit for you. If not Badgley, find your financial team to support this facet of your life. We know what it feels like to juggle many balls because we do that, too. We are financial professionals, and like you, we are also working parents, elder caregivers, compassionate friends, and confidantes. We would welcome the opportunity to join your village and help you move intentionally toward living out your hopes and dreams in 2022 and beyond.
Cheers to strong coffee and an even stronger village in the new year.
Sincerely,
The women of Badgley
