“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”

In 2001, Mike joined Badgley Phelps as an investment manager and is a member of our research team. He brings to our firm over 25 years of experience in market analysis, portfolio management and building strong client relationships.

“The best way to construct and manage client portfolios for the long term is by following core investment principles, tailoring strategies to each unique client and ignoring short-term interim aggravations.”

Prior to joining the firm, Mike was an investment manager at Bank of America, working with institutional and private clients. While at Bank of America, Mike was a member of the Northwest Region Equity Strategy Committee, which guided the equity investment process for all private client and institutional accounts. He has participated in the CFA Institute program for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Mike has spent many days hiking, fishing and exploring the mountains and rainforest within the Olympic National Park, and one day hopes to explore the coastlines and mountains of France. Mike lives in Edmonds with his wife and two children.
